The Lancaster Trophy was donated by Mercia Lancaster in 1987, when the Tauranga Association split from Bay of Plenty, and has developed into a highly competitive 'Top 16' representative event between North Harbour, Auckland, Counties, Thames Valley, Waikato and Tauranga.
The Champion Centre is decided on Centre Wins first, and if that is drawn the event then comes down to a countback of overall games won.

In this event, eight game points are awarded for fours wins, four for pairs wins and two for singles. The Probyn is a special event, where the Centres take turnabout at billeting each other. This year it is held here in the Waikato.

First played in 1990 the competing teams now are Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley and Tauranga.
The Bettridge Shield was donated by the late well known Waikato couple, Arthur and Gwyneth Bettridge who were passionate about giving women the chance to play Skip and Three in representative matches to gain experience.
This was the first tournament of its kind in New Zealand and is an extremely prestigious event for women bowlers.
